This is some of the best food I have ever eaten. Layers and layers of flavor and above and beyond hospitality. If you go to one restaurant on MDI, make it this one.
MoreMy absolute favorite restaurant! The best thing I ever had here was the deep fried stuffed squash blossoms with a tomato chutney.... a great classy little place with exceptional quality.
MoreVery tasty
We accidentally found this place a week a go when we hiked a little late in Acadia and needed to find dinner and it was a perfect find! The staff was wonderful and very knowledgable about their delicious menu. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. Everything was so good that we came back the next night to have dinner and were equally impressed. Needless to say, the next time we find ourselves in Maine, we'll stop by.
MoreThis is one of the best restaurants we have been to period. Nice and knowledgeable staff. Creative, delicious food. Offers a romantic escape from the tourists around Acadia. A little pricey but worth every penny.
MoreBest meal ever!
Burning Tree is the absolute Best restaurant we tried this week! A creative, delicious menu!
MoreSuper tasty food!
Excellent food and service! The from the hostess to the bar tender, everyone was welcoming and approachable. The food is all delicious!...and definitely, save room for dessert!! Everything here is homemade, even the ice cream!!
MoreA spectacular restaurant that resonates Acadia's alluring ambiance and at-home feel
MoreIncredible fresh food and a wild wine selection. It cannot be understated how fresh and incredible everything is
MoreWe have driven by this restaurant for years when we camped at Blackwoods campground nearby. We finally went and we should have gone much sooner. The food was wonderful and the server even better.
MoreDuring Covid Burning Tree was only doing take out. They have a great natural wine shop as well as good prepared foods. They grow the majority of the vegetables they serve/cook. The breakfast SCONES are the best I’ve ever had. Not too dry, not too moist where it becomes not a scone but a muffin and very flavorful. We had an earl grey scone and also a ginger scone. I highly recommend this place. Hope I get to visit again.
MoreGreat place.
I was expecting this place to be good judging by the number of cars that were outside. Unfortunately, the food tasted horrible and was in extremely small portions with drastic prices. I definitely do not recommend going there.
MoreThis is one of the best spots on Mt Desert island. Really special and the staff is terrific.
MoreExcellent variety of entre options. Many of them fish but with different twists. For example Vietnamese cod. Food was very tasty and service was good. All spices and herbs are grown on site in a greenhouse. The restaurant is small so it can be a little tight inside.
MoreThe food here is very creative and quite excellent. The sole special was subtly flavored and absolutely delicious. Our server seemed a bit young; our service fluctuated between attentive and inattentive. We were seated in the outdoor section which was actually a bit overheated and somewhat uncomfortable. Although we could not give 5 stars because of these issues, this is a "yes" recommendation as the food was quite artistic.
MoreThis was amazing, and we would not even have gone here if we hadn't had a gift certificate.
MoreCame here to dinner with my husband at 5:07pm and they open at 5pm. We did not have reservations but not the point when coming so early. The girl in the front said that everything is booked until 9:15pm. This is a huge place and only 2 couples were seated at 5. I doubt that at 530 all of their tables would have been full. I know of restaurants in Manhattan that are in full capacity and still take in walkins. I told her I know what we wanted and tops 45 minutes we would be done. She did not take us. I wonder what the owner would say about turning away business.
MoreFantastic food....One of the best restaurants in the area....great service....
After all the hype, we were really looking forward to trying this place, but it was only so-so. The use of spices was interesting and original but the actual preparation of the food fell short. Rubbery scallops, crusted fish that tasted cold and oily... we were just hoping for better from a place with this reputation. It also took 45 minutes to get food to the table (appetizers), so be prepared for a wait. We've had some great food in this area, and this just wasn't up to par. Interesting enough to try once, but we won't be back.
MoreLoved everything about this restaurant!
This is such a hidden gem. We are so glad we ended up here by chance. The food is amazing and looked it was all from their kitchen garden. We ordered inside and sat outside since they are not open for dining in. It would be nice if they made some seating arrangement in their kitchen garden.
MoreOnce again, dinner here was perfection. We came wanting fresh seafood and left having had freshly smoked salmon, perfectly cooked mussels, and skewered halibut over a sauce of tiny toasted pasta in a broth with chorizo. Allison and her staff are constantly working to come up with the best, the freshest, the most delicious food. Add a friendly and efficient staff and a bartender par excellence--and you have The Burning Tree, our go-to in the Bar Harbor area. There's nothing better here.
MoreThe scallop squid in miso broth was so good I drank every drop of the soup. Just enough spicy and acidic for me. The stuffed anari special was also delicious.
MoreVery good food; did not get a good sitting.
One of the best farm to table restaurant I've ever been to. The greens and flowers - some edible - are grown on premises. And the chef does amazing things with the menu that is beyond me to describe in proper foodie detail. Wines are reasonably priced and are very good. Cost on a one to five scale would be a four but worth every cent.
MoreThe food was very good and the ambiance was excellent. We had a very nice young man waiting our table, and he accidently broke a wine glass while delivering our entrees to us. He was pretty careless with the cleanup, and he didn't offer to bring a new comped glass of wine. This led to a slightly uncomfortable interaction where we had to ask for another glass of wine, and had to be clear that we expected it to be comped. Despite all this, the experience was quite pleasant.
MoreAmazing food and wonderful service. Great wine selection. The atmosphere is warn and romantic. A great way to get away from tourists if you are in the Bar Harbor/ Acadia area. Make reservations or else it is hard to get in.
MoreExcellent service, comfortable ambience, and some of the most delicious food preparations I've had the pleasure to enjoy
MoreSo close to the blackwoods campgrounds and they have amazing food and staff! 'Course many BBQ or cook out when camping but it was our first time in Maine. Definitely try the Mussels! They're to die for! Also a reservation during busy hours is probably best, but then again we went there during labor day weekend
MoreA gem of a seafood restaurant with creative locally / responsibly sourced food. Pleasant and skilled staff. Book ahead when you are in the area.
